There is a consistent need for timely physician response to news articles, and we feel that the time has come for an organized effort. In short, we are looking for a group of physicians who would be willing to become a member of our "Editorial Board." By committing to this project, you may be called upon to respond to pertinent newspaper articles via a Letter-to-the-Editor. We can no longer afford to simply hope that someone in our physician community will respond to the abundant attacks, outrages and inaccuracies regularly reported by the media.

If we are successful in compiling a generous list of physician volunteers who are willing to write letters on short notice, we can easily rotate the "assignment." In order to expedite the response and make it as quick and easy as possible, you will be provided with the original article and any other appropriate resource information by fax or email to help you formulate a response.

Please let us know if you are willing to participate on the Association's Editorial Board. We look forward to what promises to be a productive activity for the Association. In fairness to representing the best interests of NHCMA and its members, we will ask that all letters be reviewed by a member of the Association's Executive Committee before we submit them to the newspaper.
