Reminder regarding the Merge of NGS Claims Processing System
This is a reminder that National Government Services will be merging our claims processing system beginning on December 12, 2009. This will have an impact on all Medicare Part B providers in Connecticut and New York. National Government Services Medicare currently has four Multi-Carrier System (MCS) claims processing environments, which were inherited when we transitioned to the Jurisdiction 13 A/B Medicare Administrative Contractor (MAC). The four regions or segments are:
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has instructed National Government Services to merge these environments. The transition to the new MCS claim processing environment is scheduled to begin on December 12, 2009 and be fully operational on December 16, 2009. The purpose of this merge is to unify all of the Part B claims processing functions into a single claims processing environment. This includes all data values and files, such as procedure code files and claims history. The merge will result in significant administrative savings while having virtually no impact upon beneficiaries or providers following the merge.
