After months of hard work, The New Haven County Medical Association, along with CSMS, CMIC, CSMS-IPA, and the seven other County Medical Associations {Fairfield County Medical Association, Hartford County Medical Association, Litchfield County Medical Association, Middlesex County Medical Association, New London County Medical Association, Tolland County Medical Association, and Windham County Medical Association} are now prepared to offer physicians and allied health care providers a low-cost alternative to expensive HIPAA compliance consulting services. We’ve commissioned PrivaPlan, the only company to work with another medical society, to develop a compact disk (CD) that incorporates both Connecticut and Federal HIPAA Privacy Requirements.

We know that you are faced with daily offers to purchase CDs, attend seminars and retain consultants, which would only make you compliant with federal HIPAA standards. For that reason, we commissioned a law firm to work with PrivaPlan in the development of a customized, Connecticut-specific product. Over 5,000 provisions of state and federal statutes and regulations have been reviewed and analyzed for purposes of this CD. As a result, this product will enable you to become compliant with both Connecticut and Federal standards. The cost of this research and the development of the CD have been financed equally by a grant from the CSMS, CMIC, CSMS-IPA, and the eight County Medical Associations.
